The Greek national drink, Ouzo is an aniseed alcohol that made the city of Tirnavou famous in the eighteenth century.
Today, the eponymous distillery has not changed anything about the original recipe: in addition to anise, 14 herbs and spices (fennel, cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander, etc.), freshly harvested before being distilled, are used in its composition.
This very refreshing appetizer also goes perfectly with seafood and fish. Enjoy it like the Greeks, dry or on ice (possibly barely diluted), alternating with very cold water.
